Chill

I’ve been in Amsterdam for a day and a half now and there is one feeling I get from the way they go about everything: chill. On the streets, people just go their way and everything works out. No road rage, no competition for spots. I haven’t seen a single ostentatious display of wealth so far; people are completely chill about how they look. Even their demeanor: quiet, reserved, purposeful, exudes chillness. It’s a heck of a change from the go-go-go, money-driven culture I’ve grown up in. I like it, though. I haven’t figured out yet where motivation comes from around here, but it’s definitely not coming from a need to be better than everybody else. What a great way to unwind over spring break!
