Where: Brian's House

As usual, Brian didn't start moving until 4. By the time he came into the garage, I had already gotten started attaching the lift motor in a more permanent. When I finished that, we moved on to blooming out the stabilizer rods. We decided to try to only make one bloom right on the plate but that didn't get on target. We then went to plan B and tried to do two blooms, one on each side. I kept tightening the device but nothing was happening. Finally, we stopped and decided there was something wrong. After we dissected it, we discovered that the threads on the major nut that you tighten had gotten totally messed up. Brian spent about 5 minutes thinking and came up with an answer. He said it was klutzy but it would work. He set about finding a replacement nut while I wrote this entry. I eventually joined in but none was found. I had to leave while we were still searching for a fix.

Personal:

When we failed, we got pretty depressed but came out of it with an answer. I think we just have too many problems ahead of us to make it successfully. I do think that we will have a reasonable case for our device, considering that it is so close.

Later:

Brian just called me and said that he got the stabilizer rods fixed with "dad help." I guess this is ok since Brian pretty much specked it out for Bart.

Jamie:

I did the poster today while eric and brian worked on the inchworm and now the poster is done.
