Where: My House

Jamie came over today and we were going to make the winder work and take it to the Trial but we took too long working on it so we didn't have time. We tried wrapping the rope around once and then letting it go down to an anchor. My dad (our Advisor) suggested this one. It almost worked but it was too heavy. We took off one of the motors and it worked, kind of. Because it was off balance, the rope tended to wind over itself and eventually locked up. This sent me back into the depression I have been suffering for the past few days but Jamie kept on. I eventually recovered enough to help. Many changes were made including lengthening the barrel and making the upper slot for the rope be able to slide. It worked better but still couldn't climb the rope.

Jamie:

well we never made it to the test trial, but we made a large amount of progress on the winder. we fixed both of yesterdays problems and so now our only problem is the rope running over the edge of the cylinder: major progress in my opinion.
