Where: School

The team didn't officially meet today but quite a bit got done. I talked with every member of the team at lunch and Jamie and Tevis talked. The reason we didn't have an official meeting is that my class is doing a play and Tevis and I had to be there. I talked with my teacher and she said that she didn't realize that the Tech Challenge involved activities. She said that she would try to work around the Tech Challenge and give us that time as much as possible. Today was too late to change but I decided to postpone the major meeting to tomorrow.

What I did do was discuss the design and process a lot with Tevis. He and I are really on the same wavelength about a lot of thing and I think Jamie as well. When I talked to Brian, he told me a few of the things his dad had told him and it was way too much. First, he said that sollenoids would need too much amperage and that a tripod wheel configuration would be hard. Fortunately, I the team wasn't too hot on the idea of sollenoids and I already knew a tripod would be too hard.

Tevis, Jamie and I are all thinking that we are behind schedule and we need to go straight to building the device and get moving. The process Tevis and I discussed was that we would divide the device upbinto two parts and have pairs work on them to be mnre efficient. The groups would cycle something like this,

Day 1
    Part 1 - A, B
    Part 2 - C, D
Day 2
    Part 1 - A, C
    Part 2 - B, D
Day 3
    Part 1 - C, D
    Part 2 - A, B
Day 4
    Part 1 - B, D
    Part 2 - A, C

This way, nobody works on one component for too long and each rotation, somebody stays with their component.

I'm not sure if I need more but I can't now (2/24/03 8:17 pm)
