My search for a better palmA few weeks after I got my Palm III, I already wanted something better. I started looking on eBay for cheap and/or used low-end Palms. I didn't really find anything too good to pass up so I lost interest there. I started looking at some of the higher-end palms and started drifting in that direction. Eventually, I decided on a Sony Clie T-665C. My reasons for liking this handheld are that the price is resonable, it has lots of high-end features like a high-res display (320x320), it runs PalmOS, and it's still pretty small and lightweight (compared to the NR70). Then, as I was still looking for somethink better, I stumbled on an interesting article. It said that Palm OS 5 had shipped to the developers and it was going to use ARM CPUs. Therefore, If I went with a palm now, it would be completely outdated by Christmas! I decided to wait and see what OS5 devices were coming. I saw an article on OSLO on Palm Infocenter.com that mentioned some of it's features. I was dazzled and decided it would be my next Palm when it came out. Then, a week or two later, Palm Infocenter mentioned Sony's new OS 5 Palm. It looked even better except for one major flaw. It had no built-in wireless!! If this is true, then I will defnintely not buy it because I believe in wireless. |
